01.07.08 Midwest - A rare January tornado outbreak took place last evening from NE Oklahoma all the way to the Great Lakes region. Most of the tornadic activity was concentrated around the Springfield, Missouri area where multiple tornadic supercell storms tracked repeatedly over the area.  Well over 30 tornadoes were reported, although the official number has not yet been confirmed.  So far only 2 deaths have been reported, a tribute the the excellent work of the National Weather Service and broadcasters in the area.getting the word out.

This even is still ongoing as of this writing with tornado watches already up from Louisiana to Indiana.  For more on this event, please visit my blog and enjoy the videos below.
