{"id":631,"date":"2009-04-26T12:57:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-26T17:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/?p=631"},"modified":"2009-04-29T12:18:55","modified_gmt":"2009-04-29T17:18:55","slug":"042609-chase-forecast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/26\/042609-chase-forecast\/","title":{"rendered":"04\/26\/09 Chase Forecast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Little time to put my forecast here today as I got in late last night to the motel in Childress, TX and got up late today, so I&#8217;ve been rushing to get ready to chase.\u00a0 Update on yesterday coming later, but we got 1 weak tornado at close range and on incredible rotating wall cloud I can&#8217;t believe didn&#8217;t produce a large tornado.<\/p>\n<p>Turning attention to today&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/022609.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-632\" title=\"022609\" src=\"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/022609.gif\" alt=\"022609\" width=\"582\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/022609.gif 582w, http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/022609-299x210.gif 299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 582px) 100vw, 582px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Storm Prediction Center has issued a high risk for severe weather today for a large part of the southern\/central plains.\u00a0 Risks include potential for widespread supercells with significant tornadoes and some giant hail.\u00a0 In some ways, this reminds me of an event 10 years ago that produced a historical tornado outbreak.\u00a0 This is the greatest risk for tornadoes today:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/042609day1probotlk_1630_torn.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-633\" title=\"042609day1probotlk_1630_torn\" src=\"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/042609day1probotlk_1630_torn.gif\" alt=\"042609day1probotlk_1630_torn\" width=\"582\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/042609day1probotlk_1630_torn.gif 582w, http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/042609day1probotlk_1630_torn-299x210.gif 299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 582px) 100vw, 582px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since I don&#8217;t have time for a detailed forecast, I will refer you readers to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/products\/outlook\/pwo.html\">public severe<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/products\/outlook\/pwo.html\">weather outlook<\/a>.\u00a0 If you reside in or near these areas you might want to think about canceling any outdoor activities you have planned for today, and at the very least pay extremely close attention to media sources and your weather radio for developing severe weather.
