{"id":1053,"date":"2010-08-13T17:03:05","date_gmt":"2010-08-13T22:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/?p=1053"},"modified":"2010-08-13T17:05:33","modified_gmt":"2010-08-13T22:05:33","slug":"2010-perseids-meteor-shower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/daviddrummond.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/13\/2010-perseids-meteor-shower\/","title":{"rendered":"2010 Perseids Meteor Shower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I decided last night to try my hand for the first time to really take a serious starfield picture, and in that process hoped maybe to capture a Perseids Meteor.\u00a0 I was out for about 3 hours taking dozens of images with my Canon digital SLR.\u00a0 While I was out I saw between 30 and 40 meteors.\u00a0 I was rather disappointed as I was hoping for more from all accounts I had read on what was expected.\u00a0 The area in West Texas where I was has exceptional viewing and according to the light pollution maps is in the second darkest areas.
